Our client in Glen Rock, NJ is looking to hire an experienced Carrier Development Associate to work in Glen Rock, NJ. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm. Salary: $60,000-$65,000/annual – BOE

Carrier Development Associate

You will have the opportunity to focus on logistics and be involved in the growth of our client’s transportation and freight brokerage business. On a daily basis, you’ll play a key role in assisting with customer’s supply chain strategy by transporting their inventory in the most efficient manner, all the while creating and fostering key relationships with our professional drivers and carrier network.

In this role, you’ll be a part of a carrier procurement team that will be responsible for upholding our strong commitment to customer success by addressing supply chain issues, solving transportation-related problems, and making concise decisions to support our ever-growing portfolio of customers!

Responsibilities/Duties of a Carrier Sales Rep:

  • Manage/grow relationships with current carrier base
  • Rapid “on the fly” rate negotiations with carriers
  • Target prospective new carriers through outbound “warm” calling to build your book of business
  • Utilize investigative sales techniques to further develop carrier capacity
  • Manage full truckload (FTL) and less than truckload (LTL) shipments
  • Assign, dispatch and track all shipments with carriers
  • Assist in support and execution of quoting opportunities for the first time and existing customers
  • Proactively address problems and implement effective, timely solutions
  • Serve as the liaison between an individual/company that needs shipping services and an authorized motor carrier

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • 2 or 4 year college degree
  • Must like to work in a fast-paced and highly competitive sales market
  • Hungry for success and always looking for self-improvement
  • High-level multitasking ability with strong organization skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Enthusiasm and high energy
  • Willingness to work in a team environment, but able to conduct themselves and their work independently, driven to achieve individual results without being micro-managed
  • Transportation or Logistics background a plus but not required

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
