Production Manager – Brooklyn, NY – Direct Hire

Our client is a leading manufacturer and provider of water and wastewater pumps, packages, and systems. This is a direct hire position with our client in Brooklyn, NY.

You will report directly to our Clients’ Production Engineering Manager and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day production at the Federal Pump site of Pump Systems located in Brooklyn, NY. The Production Technicians will report to you. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to optimize workflow, ensure accurate bill of materials and inventory, maintain data integrity, and manage shipping/receiving.

You will need to have great attention to detail and will be able to operate within an ERP system, as well as have strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

· Manage day-to-day production at the Federal pump

· Manage and improve Inventory at Shepherd and off-site storage location

· Collaborate with Engineers to optimize workflow and make corrective changes to production procedures

· Manage Shipping/Receiving

· Maintain order and good relationships within the shop

· Communicate regularly with upper management regarding any production-related issues

· Motivate, Support, and guide production staff

· Coordinate the flow of materials, parts, and sub-assemblies between departments on shop floor as well as to and from suppliers, by ensuring the availability of equipment, tooling, materials, and labor.

· Review materials and parts inventory required for production

· Compare records on inventory, materials/parts requirements to ensure adequate programmed control data

· Use problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome obstacles

· Teach lean concepts and actively engage employees to improve speed, and quality and reduce cost

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid state driver’s license and Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days
  • Must be extremely safety conscious and understand hazards and dangers associated with the job
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain company equipment including pump rig, service truck, welder, generator, hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, chain wrenches and come along

Looking to hire a full time Field Operations Manager. Client services all makes and models of commercial, industrial, and municipal water pumps and pump systems.

Job responsibilities:

 Work with the general manager on deploying field service technicians to ensure

all project requirements and budgets are met.

 Manage the full scope of installation, start-up, repair, and replacement projects in

commercial and industrial buildings or municipal water and wastewater systems,

including estimating, labor planning, job scheduling, work assignments, job

completion, troubleshooting, and quality control.

 Troubleshooting complex service jobs by analyzing and coming up with solutions

for repairing electrical and mechanical issues.

 Engage with customers for any dispute resolutions and to ensure customer

satisfaction with our services.

 Attend job-Walks, meet customers, and gather information necessary for

Estimators to properly Bid on new Projects as needed.

 Attend business related events within the community to gain knowledge for

Our client represents numerous pump, valve, and pump system manufacturers and serves Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Eastern Ohio, and Maryland Panhandle markets. Services include new equipment sales, start-up, routine inspection, field troubleshooting and repair, and a fully equipped state-of-the-art test facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair all types of centrifugal pumps-domestic water, HVAC pumps (tower cooling & chilled water), submersible, column, and sump/sewage.
  • Under general supervision, inspects, modifies, maintains, repairs, and installs pumps, electric motors, valves, and related mechanical equipment for water and wastewater systems throughout Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pressure-reducing valves associated with domestic water booster systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair sewage ejector pumps, pump controls, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair common electrical issues such as three-phase and single-phase electrical systems, including capacitors and start relays.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary during normal working hours and when scheduled to be on call for 24-hour emergency service.
