Dock Supervisor – Direct Hire

Full Job Description

Our client is a leading high-growth (60+% annually, up from 20+% annually last year), greater than $100 million in revenue, national third party logistics company.

Our client is looking for a Dock Supervisor to work in Piscataway, NJ, day shift (7:00 AM-3:30 PM EST). The Dock Supervisor will report to the Warehouse General Manager. Starting base compensation is $55,000/yr. While community and individual referrals are strongly encouraged, please, no initial inquiries or referrals from staffing agencies, search firms, or similar.

Responsibilities

– Lead a team of 5-6 forklift operators responsible for loading and unloading 300+ inbound and outbound trailers per week

– The successful candidate will partner with the shipping department to prioritize loads based on customer and carrier requirements. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for all freight staged on the dock until it is either put into racking or loading into an outbound trailer

– Attention to detail is critical – the dock is the highest traffic area in the warehouse and safety is paramount! The Dock Supervisor will reinforce industry best practices, drive 5S compliance, and support the warehouse’s OS&D program

– Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

– Five years of experience in a cross-dock operation
– Five years of experience using an ERP / warehouse management system- Five years of experience coaching and developing direct reports
– Comfort with using Microsoft Office – specifically Outlook and Excel
– Strong communication skills and the ability to focus under pressure
– OSHA 30 hour certification preferred
– Forklift “train the trainer” certification preferred

Load Planning Assistant

Our client in Glen Rock, NJ is looking to hire an experienced freight broker to work in Glen Rock, NJ. This is a direct hire opportunity. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. Salary: BOE

Responsibilities

Consolidate multiple orders to maximize efficiency and profitability

Maximize payloads and determine the best mode of transport to minimize costs

Contact carriers for truck availability and schedule delivery appointments at consignee

Enter all freight costs; verify and change any discrepancies in carrier freight bills

Answer all questions about transports (transit times, special rate quotes) and stock (run numbers, damages, systems discrepancies) to help customer fill consignee orders / requests

Continuously develop relationships with customers to properly assess their needs and achieve business results

Monitor and assist in late shift responsibilities, ensuring all loads are picked up and/or accounted for.

Update all necessary files on a daily basis

Requirements

2+ years of experience utilizing DAT Freight Analytics
Ability to complete responsibilities and follow directions under little supervision in a fast-paced environment
Track record of superior communication, follow through, and listening skills with colleagues and customers

Freight Broker/Dispatcher

Our client in Glen Rock, NJ is looking to hire an experienced freight broker to work in Glen Rock, NJ. This is a direct hire opportunity. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. Salary: BOE

Responsibilities

Perform freight services according to company and government regulations.

Create, coordinate, and manage pick-up and delivery schedules, coordinating with shippers, carriers, dispatchers, and customers.

Monitor all routes and schedule backhauls with same trucks to utilize max. cost of the daily route.

Track and report shipment status of loads.

Book orders with carriers and assist in preparation for loading.

Coordinate logistics for projects coming from multiple customer sites and vendors.

Manage multiple deliveries, process spot requests, and develop new sales strategies to generate new leads, improve business, and develop a sales pipeline.

Identify safe carriers for freight services, develop business relationships with carrier contacts, and provide current and prospective customers with shipping quotes.

Maintain strong relationships with multiple carriers.

Maintain accurate records of all activity, ensuring freight paperwork is complete and approved prior to transportation.

Resolve freight discrepancies and keep relevant parties apprised.

Respond to customer concerns and queries in a timely, professional manner.

Remain abreast of emerging market trends.

Requirements

Quality Assurance Manager

Our client in Lodi, NJ is currently in need of a Full Time QA Manager. This position is a direct hire position.

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm.

Salary: $50,000.00/annual

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audits and keep reports to document all quality assurance activities and organize all documentation for the external audit for our Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015.
  • Ensure the completion of necessary environmental, health and safety trainings by all departments.
  • Keeps all measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs if needed.
  • Maintain documentation of the company’s safety procedures, accidents and related events.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of incoming and outgoing product to confirm conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Provide training and support to every employee (policies, procedures, and core processes).
  • Record and track any complaints and perform root cause investigations.
  • Keep track of all Environmental and lab certifications due dates and documentation.
  • Perform monthly chemical inventory.
  • Perform plating bath analysis.
  • Coordinate the disposal of expired inventory.

Performance Measurement Criteria :

  • Cycle count accuracy.
  • Accuracy of; inventory items ‘physical’ locations
  • Efficiency of managing rack capacity against vacant bin locations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typing 35 plus wpm
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literate Microsoft office : Excel
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Working Environment:

General manufacturing environment with some exposure to lab environment.
